AVENUE B OPEN STREETS

Public Performance & Mural

Developed in collaboration with East Village Community Coalition, Loisaida Open Streets, Fourth Arts Block NYC, and local artist Kuki for the kick off of Open Streets Summer activities, this collaborative public performance gave pedestrians the opportunity to take back the public corridor by creating their own urban carpet. Using the colors of typical street markings, the carpet extends the crosswalk. Furniture from DOT populated the mural creating a civic living room.
